Printen Parfait with Apple Compote
Ingredients for 4 Persons:
- 51 pck. herb/spiceprints
- 125 ml Rum or Cookie Liqueur
- 200 g marzipan paste
- 6 BE cream
- 120 g sugar
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- 1 pck. brittle
For the stewed fruit:
- 1 glass plums
- 0,5 l mulled wine
- 1 pck. vanilla pudding powder
Slowly we are heading towards winter – but that doesn’t mean that you can’t eat ice cream anymore! On the contrary, especially in the dark season (and soon before Christmas), a Printen Parfait with apple compote is an excellent sweet treat. Especially if it is made with the original Aachener Printen…
First you put down a box form with some transparent foil. There the Parfait mass comes in later to take shape overnight in the freezer.
Crumble the Printen and mix with the Rum or Cookie Liqueur to get an even mass. Crush the marzipan paste and mix with the Printen- Liqueur -Mix. Mingle the Parfait mixture until creamy and allow to infuse for a short time.
In the meantime, whip the cream together with the sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff. Then carefully fold them into the Printen marzipan mixture.
Pour the finished Parfait mixture into the mould and freeze overnight in the freezer. One should take the form however approx. half an hour before consumption again from the freezer compartment and cut into slices, so that the Parfait is not too hard, but like it is later on the tongue to melt there… 😉
For the compote, peel the apples and cut into small cubes. But not too small. It should become compote. Mix the pudding powder with approx. 5 tbsp mulled wine. If children are to eat with you, you can also use grape juice instead of mulled wine,
Put the rest of the mulled wine in a large pot and add the sliced apples. Bring to the boil on medium heat. As soon as the compote is boiling, remove the pot from the plate, stir in the pudding powder and let it simmer again over a low flame.
If you like, you can add a little cinnamon. Or, who has the possibility to add Printen spice.
Now arrange the sliced parfait together with the compote on a plate and sprinkle with some brittle. Enjoy! 😊Zurück
